KALAMAZOO, MI -- Firefighters are battling a fire involving multiple houses in Kalamazoo.
The fire was reported about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday near West North Street and Staples Avenue.
There are no immediate reports of injuries and some of the houses are believed to be vacant.
Authorities at the scene said up to four structures were involved. The fire started with one house and then other nearby structures caught fire.
Police and firefighters blocked the street to battle the fire.
Authorities said one person was evacuated from a home.
Police at 12:20 p.m. issued an advisory, asking the public to avoid the area.
