Des Moines police charge man with murder after body found along roadside - Des Moines Register

A Des Moines man was arrested for first-degree murder and first-degree robbery after body was found Saturday night with a gunshot injury in an industrial area southeast of downtown Des Moines. 

Patrol officers found the man's body along the roadside in the 2400 block of East Market Street just after 9 p.m. while responding to the report of a person down, according to a Des Moines Police Department news release. 

Police determined the death was a homicide Sunday morning, stating the victim had a gunshot injury.

Andrew James Hall, 27, was arrested for first-degree murder and first-degree robbery.

The victim's name is being withheld until family notifications have been completed.

The body was discovered in a heavily industrial area south of the railroad tracks that run into downtown Des Moines, near Dean Lake and the Titan Tire manufacturing facility.

This is the 14th homicide of 2020, the news release sates.
