SANTA CLARITA — Firefighters were making progress Saturday afternoon at stopping a 25-acre brush fire along the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Santa Clarita.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department first reported the blaze at 15 acres at 1:37 p.m. on the ridge along the freeway at Golden Valley Road.
By 2 p.m., fire officials reported that forward progress of the fire was stopped and they expected to quickly finish clearing a line of vegetation around the blaze.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
All but one firefighting helicopter was released, officials said.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 1:41 p.m. shutting down lanes 2, 3 and 4 of the 14 Freeway at Golden Valley Road.
All lanes had reopened by just before 6 p.m., Caltrans said.
