Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC’s follow animations are hilarious - Polygon

poloong.blogspot.com

Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Isle of Armor is out today, and players are discovering one unannounced feature: Monsters can follow you around now, just like they did in previous games. (Sadly this feature is limited to the new DLC area, as Pokémon can’t follow you in the main game’s region.)

Some animations you might recognize from the existing Camp feature, while others are totally new. My favorite of the lot has to be Slowpoke, a good boy who is trying his best. He may not be able to keep up, but we still love him. The video below tells the tale:

The follow speed seems totally dependent on the Pokémon in question. Cinderace, for example, can totally keep up with you.

I also adore watching Nebby (also known as Cosmog), who is definitely out of the bag today, leisurely floating toward the player:

Some monsters have sillier follow animations, though. Take a look at this head banging Porygon Z!

Sandshrew’s animation, meanwhile, seems like a dizzying time.

Some fans are messing around with the feature to find out what makes it tick. But even when the follow animations mess up, they’re a good time.

Here are some more of our favorite follow animations from Isle of Armor, along with new new Wild Area chasing animations to boot.
