WOW! WHAT AN AMAZING TURNOUT AND SHOW OF PATRIOTISM AT TODAY’S “INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE!
– Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Thank you to everyone who made today’s 2nd Annual Independence Day Parade such an amazing success!
Even though we changed the format to a static display styled parade to accommodate “social distancing” it didn’t stop hundreds from showing up to participate in the celebration of our great nation and thousands from coming out to see the parade and show everyone just how much the love America.
Throughout the morning vehicles loaded with family and friends drove by the floats, trucks, motorcycles and parade participants showing their love for our great country by blowing their horns, waving flags out their vehicles and displaying patriotic signs, all while staying in their vehicles and practicing “family social distancing.”
I want to personally thank all of the parade participants who stood out beside their floats and vehicles for two hours as part of the parade, the many volunteers who made today’s parade such a success, and of course, our great partners and friends at the Veteran’s Memorial Center for all they did to make the event so amazing!
Have a great 4th of July weekend everyone and thank you for showing just how much Brevard County loves the United States of America!

“This new innovative approach to the parade concept still gave us the opportunity as a community to celebrate our nation’s independence and also allows everyone of all ages to enjoy the excitement and patriotism of the 4th of July while practicing social distance protocols as recommended by the CDC.
Everyone showed their patriotism by blowing their horns and wearing their red, white and blue as they passed along the parade display.
“Remember, while these are unique times we are living in, nothing can stop us as a nation from showing our pride for the United States of America!” said Sheriff Ivey.
