The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office on Thursday released the identities of three people killed after they were swept off the rocks along the Pacific Coast Highway last week.

The three victims were identified as Xiaomei Chen, 38, of Monterey Park; Yuping Wu, 61, of Monterey Park; and Ming Qin He, 40, of El Monte. All three deaths were caused by drowning, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
The incident occurred at 4:40 p.m. on June 25 along Pacific Coast Highway near Deer Creek Road.

Chen, Wu and He were all along the rocks when a large wave crashed down and pulled them into the water. Authorities with the Ventura County Fire Department performed a water rescue at the scene, but all three ultimately died from the incident.
