Follow Your Heart (FYH) is launching a new cheese in their line of dairy-free cheeses and other products. Their brand new Vegan feta cheese debuted on June 30th in retailers across the United States.
Now you can finally satisfy the Greek food sized hole you have in your vegan life!
The first of its kind plant-based feta cheese alternative will be sold in 6-ounce packages with a shelf life of about four months which is about three months longer than mammary fluid produced feta.
The new cheese is also certified Kosher Pareve, costs 4.99 a package, and non-GMO verified. It started being carried by Albertsons & Vons stores in Southern California, Sprouts stores throughout the U.S. and should be available at most grocery stores by now.
This new feta cheese product was launched alongside Follow Your Heart’s 50th-anniversary celebration.
“Follow Your Heart is a vegan and vegetarian food company that began in 1970 as a restaurant in Canoga Park, California. In 1977, they began selling Vegenaise, an egg-free mayonnaise substitute whose name is a portmanteau of vegan and mayonnaise. The company now also produces other lines of vegan food, such as vegan cheeses, salad dressings, and VeganEgg.”
“When we founded the company in the 1970s, I was unaware of what we would accomplish and how much the plant-based market would grow. We were just following our hearts and doing what we thought would make the world a better place,” FYH CEO and co-founder Bob Goldberg said.
“We’re excited whenever we launch a new product, but to be able to be the first to introduce a crumbled feta cheese alternative is a direct result of our team’s commitment to innovation in the plant-based space. Cheese alternatives are a major focus for us, and we will continue to grow in this category.”
The company shared on Instagram:
“Feta Crumbles are here! Creamy, crumbly, and tangy, our Feta tastes like the real deal.” The post also notes that they’re soy-free, allergen-free and made with coconut oil, and non-GMO, like the rest of the products in the Follow Your Heart collection are.

Peta’s 2015 company of the year has been well known for decades for its classic Vegenaise vegan mayo product (pronounced vedge-ehnays).
From the Peta blog post:
“But Follow Your Heart outdid itself this year with the introduction of the revolutionary VeganEgg. This fool-your-taste-buds plant-based egg can replace hens’ eggs in everything from baked goods to omelets and can even be served up scrambled.”
Their Vegenaise is so iconic in fact that in 2015 FYH partnered with musician/rapper Lil B (Who is vegan) to create the VegEmoji app that takes its name from their mayo jar mascot.
They’ve also made a wide selection of vegan cheeses, shreds, and slices along with plant-based vegan egg alternatives, sour cream, yogurt, and many other products that they were developing and selling long before veganism was trending.
