Mission Viejo All-County center JT Hand is ready to follow his father’s footsteps at the next level.

The junior offensive lineman recently committed to Arizona, where his father, Bryan, played guard from 1992-96.

“I’ve grown up going to Arizona games ever since I was little,” Hand said Wednesday of his decision. “The coaches feel like family and I know (offensive line coach Kyle) DeVan can get me to the next level. It just feels like home there.”

Hand (6-3, 295) earned second-team All-County last season.

He is the fourth Mission Viejo class of 2020 recruit to commit to a Pac-12 school, joining quarterback Peter Costelli (Utah), wide receiver Mavin Anderson (Cal) and linebacker Easton Mascarenas (Oregon State).

The Diablos’ four commitments lead Orange County.

Arizona is home to Mission Viejo products Colin and Brenden Schooler but the brothers are set to finish their college careers in 2020.
