Windy weather continues Tuesday in Denver with showers expected in the morning and clearing skies in the afternoon.
There’s a 50% chance of showers in the city, mainly before 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Cloudy morning skies will give way to mostly sunny skies in the afternoon as the high temperature tops out at 68 degrees. Winds will be out of the northwest at 30 to 40 mph with some gusts up to 45 mph.
On the Eastern Plains, Tuesday winds will gust up to 60 mph as the cold front moves out of the state by about midday and showers wrap up from west to east, the weather service said. Most high temps in northeastern Colorado will top out in the 60s.
Skies will be sunny over Denver on Wednesday and the high temperature should hit 78 degrees, the weather service said. Winds will calm down a bit, with gusts up to 17 mph.
Drying conditions and a warming trend should kick in Wednesday and Thursday in northeastern Colorado with a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms returning Friday and through the weekend.
Thursday and Friday should be mostly sunny in Denver with a high temperature of 85 degrees Thursday followed by 91 degrees on Friday.
