More than a million people have watched a social media video of a dog owner sharing their non-negotiables for senior dogs.

The viral clip, which has been viewed more than 1.5 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on November 12, captured the pet parent sharing their words of advice while audiences were treated to footage of the elderly dog.

The video's creator, who goes by @syd_and_the_kids on TikTok, told users that when dogs hit a certain age, they should be allowed to do whatever the f*** they want.

"She's a 10-year-old and she's called Sydney," the dog's owner told Newsweek.

I have some really important rules for old dogs," Sydney's owner shared in the post.

"Once they hit double digits it's really really important to let them do whatever the f*** they want," they added.

Audiences could see the senior dog peering innocently into the camera lens as her owner was dishing out the advice.

The video had been captioned: "She's been doing that since single digits."

Sydney and her owner live with two other dogs in Canada. The TikTok account that has been created to document the three dogs' daily antics has amassed over 49,000 followers to date.
