Not much has been said about Jets OL Cameron Clark since he suffered a scary injury over the summer, but Robert Saleh provided a positive, albeit brief, update on Friday.

“He’s coming along fine,” Saleh said. “He’s got a little road to travel, but he’s coming along good.”

Clark suffered a spinal cord contusion during one of New York’s practices in early August. The injury forced Saleh to cut practice short as team doctors and medical personnel tended to the second-year pro. Clark remained motionless for several minutes and had to be taken off the field on a spine board. He was driven to Morristown Medical Center in an ambulance.

Fortunately, the Jets announced that Clark was expected to make a full recovery a day later, but the team never provided a timeline for a possible return to the field. On Friday, Saleh chose not to speak for Clark when asked about the lineman’s future in football. He is currently on injured reserve.

A Charlotte product, Clark was drafted by the Jets in the fourth round in 2020. He did not play as a rookie and dealt with a shoulder injury.
