PORT AUSTIN, MI - Winter is approaching fast. The first lake effect snow has already come and gone on the west side of Michigan , so there isn’t a lot of time to catch the last of the fall colors.
Towns along Lake Huron still feature trees vibrant with yellows, reds and oranges.

Even though the changing leaves were late this year, it’s still worth the trip to see the pop of color. All the way in the tip of the thumb, many places such as Eagle Bay Public Access area, Jenks Roadside Park and McGraw Park are showcasing gorgeous colors.
