The Philadelphia Eagles will look to take control of the NFC East when they battle the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Monday night.

With Nick Sirianni set to make his first trip to battle the hated NFC East rivals, here are seven storylines to follow in Week 3.

1. Coaching matchup -- Wiley old vets vs. Young Gunz

Mike McCarthy has 14-years of coaching experience, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has 19 years of experience. On Monday night, they’ll dual with Nick Sirianni (12-years) and Jonathan Gannon (10-years) in a coaching battle that’ll definitely shape the outcome of game action.

2. Injury woes

Defensive end Brandon Graham has been ruled out for the year after tearing his Achilles against San Francisco, and Brandon Brooks has been placed on injured reserve with a strained pectoral muscle. Dallas is dealing with injuries along the defensive line and at linebacker.

DeMarcus Lawrence (Foot), Randy Gregory (Covid), Donovan Wilson (Groin), Michael Gallup (Calf), and La’el Collins (Suspension) all missed last week.

3. Status of TE Zach Ertz

Because it’s Monday night, Ertz should be straight.

Ertz was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, and in 15 career games against Dallas, the tight end has logged 66 receptions for 641 yards and four touchdowns.

4. Cowboys pass catchers

A top-flight receiving corps could look average if Amari Cooper can’t play because of lingering ribs issues. Michael Gallup is still thought to be a couple of weeks away from his own return.

5. Jalen Hurts

The Eagles’ second-year star gets his first dual with Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott. Hurts threw for 190 yards and no touchdowns in Week 2. But he was still able to impact the game by rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Prescott threw for 237 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. He also failed to rush for any yards.

6. Eagles LB play

Alex Singleton is among the league leaders in total tackles and Eric Wilson isn’t that far behind, but the Eagles linebackers still leave a lot to be desired in terms of explosive plays and third-down stops.

7. Landon Dickerson set to make his first start

Dickerson is everything you want in the running game and he’ll need to improve with pass protection.

“He played a solid game,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Monday. “We all know that we all have to do things to improve based off yesterday’s game, but I thought he played solid for his first outing. Again, there’s just some things with his pass pro we’ve got to clean up — assignments and stuff like that. But (I’m) encouraged by his first start, his first time to play significant snaps.”
