A violent weekend along Colorado’s Front Range saw seven different shootings, with eight people dead and another seven injured. Denver was particularly turbulent, with several different shootings occurring in and around downtown.

A man also was killed Sunday morning in a Denver shooting. The incident occurred in the 12000 block of East 40th Avenue in the Central Park neighborhood, near Interstate 70.

Another shooting caused several road closures downtown on Sunday. Two men were hurt and taken to the hospital. One remains in critical condition. There has been an arrest made in relation to that incident, which occurred at 11th Avenue and Broadway. Crews were seen in nearby Cherry Creek, but it is unknown why.

A suspect remains at large after shooting a Denver police officer on Saturday. The officer underwent emergency surgery and was in stable condition Sunday afternoon, police said. The shooting was in the 4200 block of Alcott Street in Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood.

One man was hit early Saturday morning after a shooting at Colfax Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in Denver.

Another man was injured by a shooting downtown on 28th and Blake streets Friday night.

Earlier Friday night, a man was shot in the 8500 block of East Alameda Avenue. The injures were not life-threatening.
