Stronger wind will return to the state today, which will allow for warmer than average temperatures.
Gusts around 30 to 40 mph are likely for a good portion of the state with stronger wind along the Rocky Mountain Front.
Daytime high temperatures are on track to reach the low 40s for a good portion of Central Montana.
Scattered mountain flurries are also likely today, however the wind will keep this moisture from reaching the lower elevations.
Another cold front is on track to drop into Montana on Thursday.
Although it is anticipated to drop temperatures slightly, the strong down sloping wind will compensate for this and keep temperatures above average.
This incoming front will increase the chances for mountain snow but once again the lower elevations will likely miss out.
Forecast models are suggesting that stronger wind will return on Friday.
This increase in the wind will drive temperatures well into the 30s and 40s.
Both Saturday and Sunday are trending in the mid to high 40s for daytime highs with very strong wind.
The windy and mild temperatures are expected to extend into next week.
