Clay County announced on Tuesday it will be giving residents 65 and older and health care workers COVID-19 vaccines by appointment, starting Monday, Jan. 4.

Sign up now for a Clay County appointment.

All appointments will be at the UF/IFAS Extension T. Jesse Godbold Building at 2463 S.R. 16 West in Green Cove Springs.

Vaccination appointments will be available in 15-minute increments from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Clay County residents must have an appointment and show ID or proof of healthcare employment to receive the no-cost vaccination.

Two vaccinations are required to obtain immunity to COVID-19. Recipients will need to schedule a second appointment at Alert.ClayCountyGov.com.

At the same time, appointment slots to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Jacksonville are opening at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28.

As vaccines start to become available, the Health Department has this reminder for people who are not yet vaccinated: Continue to socially distance and avoid large crowds, wear face coverings outside your home and wash your hands often.
