Raina Morris Is a Self-Plagiarist - Vulture

poloong.blogspot.com

Thanks to the coronavirus, comedians are now trapped at home like the rest of us, so we decided that while we’re all self-quarantining, we’d do something a little different from our usual “Follow Friday” column. Instead of interviewing up-and-coming comedians we love on Twitter, we’re going live on Instagram every week to check in on some of our favorite people in comedy and get a firsthand look into how they’re handling the pandemic. So welcome to our new version of the column, now titled “Follow (From a Safe Distance) Friday.”

This week, I woke up Raina Morris (Brooklyn Comedy Collective, Twitter, natural-hair inspo pages) at an ungodly hour for a recent college grad (10 a.m. PST) to have a chat with me about how she’s doing in, you know, all this. She gave us a new definition for pajama pants, got deep about what comedy’s online pivot could mean for the future of accessibility in the scene, and promised her sister in the comments that she’d fill the dishwasher. She also provided some excellent advice for what to do when your old tweets are funnier than your newer ones: “So here’s the thing: Sometimes I will go back really deep and steal my own tweets. You copy it, delete it, post it like you just thought of it.”

You can find Raina on Instagram at @quakercowboy and on Twitter at @quakerraina.
