There are many interesting facts when trading and investing. All markets follow the path of least resistance; in gold and silver’s case, that path is lower. It is also always important to remember that traders and investors are not the same, but they are often confused with each other.
Although we have short positions in gold, silver, and long positions in platinum, this has no bearing on what I will do with my investment portfolio. Trading is a much faster pace and traders will usually trade markets on both sides short or long. The key to trading is the ability to follow the trend, which is always the path of least resistance while making sound decisions based on what you see in a chart. Those who try to trade the news or different policy changes always lose money.
Even with the short position we currently hold, I personally still own gold and silver with no intention of selling. However, my investments are in one pocket trying to build long term wealth, while my trading is meant to create salary and money to live day-to-day. Therefore, you must never confuse a trading account with an investment.
As we wrote yesterday, gold and silver appear to be headed lower; nothing has changed our view since yesterday. We do not make the mistake of trying to forecast markets, but we know how to follow the trend and that in the end, price action is the only thing that matters. All the claims you hear of ridiculous calls for metals are only there to get your money without regard for you. Do not fall for the hype; the fear mongers are always on the lurch.
Follow the path of least resistance, and your account will thank you.
