AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAY 17

The desert was lonely, I either took a leap of faith or I jumped ship. I admit I offered my only just to crash those pearly gates, hands up, hands up. Heaven’s been raided, creator, created, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with the intro video.

Wardlow makes his entrance in street clothes and gets on the mic.

He says Christian Cage made a lot of promises last week that he really wants to see him follow through with, so he calls Christian out to come down and spit in his face.

Enter Christian Cage and Luchasaurus.

Cage squares up with Wardlow and they jaw at each other, Mr. Mayhem practically begging him to spit in his face. Finally Christian works up a loogie but Wardlow goozles him and then goes to town on Luchasaurus! Cage cuts him off with a low blow and Luchasaurus nails him with a big boot!

Christian with mounted punches, the dino man gets him a ladder and he practically decapitates the TNT Champion with it! He follows it up by leaning it in the corner and putting Wardlow through it! Laying the busted ladder flat in the middle of the ring, Cage hooks him... KILLSWITCH ON THE LADDER!

Commentary promises us we’ll hear from Don Callis later tonight.

Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy vs. the Firm (“Big” Bill Morrissey & Lee Moriarty)

Cassidy and Moriarty to start, trading covers on the mat, lazy slaps from Orange set up an arm wringer and the hands go in the pockets! Leapfrog, monkey flip, kip-up! Tags made, collar and elbow, Morrissey ragdolls Allin around the ring!

Big Bill calling for a test of strength like a jerk, Darby sends him to the floor, Lee comes in, gets back body dropped to the floor, Orange with the blind tag, stereo suicide dives wipe the Firm out and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Big Bill working Orange over and mocking him, dragging him over for a tag, Moriarty trying desperately to stay on him, float over a suplex, malfunction at the junction and a tag to Allin! Double springboard back elbow, charging backsplashes, but eventually Big Bill catches him with a Bossman Slam for two!

Tag back to Cassidy, off the ropes, satellite DDT connects and he kips up! Lee with a scholboy for two, Eye of the Storm into a Border City Stretch! Orange thinking Beach Break, he tags out instead, up in the ropes, Morrissey lays ‘em out! Orange with Stundog Millionaire and Darby follows with a Yoshi Tonic!

Beach Break on Lee, Allin goes up top, Orange Punch takes out Big Bill! Coffin Drop, Darby picks him up to make a point...

Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy win by pinfall with a headlock takeover from Allin on Lee Moriarty.

The Young Bucks are interviewed in the parking lot and say that Kenny Omega is banged up but he’ll be okay.

The Blackpool Combat Club roll up and a brawl ensues as they smash the Jackson brothers into a truck! Jon Moxley grabs a camera and says they’re the only real elite in this business.

Wardlow is interviewed in the trainer’s room by Renee Paquette.

Arn Anderson rolls up angry and throws a towel at him. Wardlow says he asked him to stay back because of what happened, and Arn asks what he’s prepared to do. Wardlow says he’ll beat him at his own game and challenges him to a ladder match for the title at Double or Nothing!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Renee Paquette interviews a very sweaty Orange Cassidy.

He says a lot of people want a shot at his International Championship, so if you want a shot at Double or Nothing, go find Tony Khan and let him know, and he’ll fight all of them.

Exodus Prime vs. Sammy Guevara

Guevara ducks a lariat, big knee strike rocks Prime and it’s over almost before it begins...

Sammy Guevara wins by pinfall with GTH.

Post-match, Sammy gets on the mic and reminisces about working the indies in Texas and how all his struggles brought him here today. He knows he’s not perfect and he’s made a lot of mistakes, and lot of us have seen those mistakes first hand.

But sometimes it takes a few wrong turns to get to the right place, and the right place is Las Vegas on May 28, when he gets to shut up all the naysayers. He listens to his heart, and his heart says that at Double or Nothing, he’ll be the new AEW World Champion.

We get a video package for the AEW World Championship match at Double or Nothing.

Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh make their entrance.

Lethal gets on the mic to tell Tony Schiavone out but FTR attack them from behind! Lethal whips Dax Harwood with his belt! Dax tears his pants off him, Cash with a chair to Jarrett, Harwood tears one of Jay’s shoes off and throws it into the crowd!

He says winning with a side headlock was a direct message to Maxwell Jacob Friedman and it’s no secret how much this match means to him.

Sammy Guevara rolls up and says when Allin told him he needed to stop being a follower, he heard him and that meant something to him, and one of them NEEDS to take the title off of MJF. Darby offers a fist bump and a “may the best man win.”

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD & Hikaru Shida vs. the Outcasts (Ruby Soho & Toni Storm)

Brawling at the start, Storm whips Shida into a short headscissors into the turnbuckles from Soho! Hikaru suplexes Ruby into Toni, and lays into her with mounted punches in the corner! Missile dropkick connects, enzuigiri on Storm, tag to Baker!

The doctor comes in with forearms, rolling elbow, swinging neckbreaker, cover for two! Saraya tripping Britt up, baseball slide knocks her to the floor and Saraya lays cheap knees in with the referee distracted! Pointing and laughing, Toni comes down to the floor and throws Baker into the barricade!

Back inside, putting boots to Britt and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Baker and Storm both down and out, crawling, tags made! Shida in hot with forearms, buckling Soho to her knees, hammering on her with abandon before laying her out with a sliding elbow! Fighting Storm and Saraya off with elbows too, up on the middle rope, crossbody to the floor wipes all three Outcasts out!

Back inside, off the ropes, running knee for two! Falcon Arrow follows... NOPE! The match breaks down, Ruby reverses Lockjaw, No Future connects, tag to Toni! Storm Zero reversed into an Air Raid Crash, off the ropes, Blackout connects! Saraya distracting referee Stephon Smith, Toni gets the spray paint, sprays Britt in the face with it...

The Outcasts win by pinfall with Storm Zero from Toni Storm on Dr. Britt Baker, DMD.

Renee Paquette interviews Orange Cassidy again.

He’s told 20 people have gone to Tony Khan’s office for the Double or Nothing match, and he’s cool with it and dubs it a Blackjack Battle Royal. He asks Renee if she wants in the match and she says she’s all set.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, commentary tosses to Tony Khan.

Next week he’ll tell us where the premiere episode will be airing from.

Roderick Strong wins by pinfall with a jumping knee.

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry vs. Rush

Perry with a shove, Rush goozles him and sends him out of the ring! Chops on the floor, throwing Jungle Boy into the barricade a few times, opening a cut on his brow, pressing the attack and tearing at his forehead and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Jungle Boy fired up, jockeying for position in the turnbuckles, trading chops, headbutts from Jack set up an avalanche Frankensteiner! Jose the Assistant trips Jungle Boy up but can’t keep him from locking the Snare Trap in! Rush crawls for the ropes and forces the break!

Fighting on the apron, Rush slams Perry to the floor! Back inside, trying to set him up for the corner knees but Jungle Boy keeps his wits about him...

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.

Post-match, Jose and Preston Vance attack Jungle Boy but Darby Allin makes the save! Rush and Vance get the better of him and choke him with a cable! Sammy Guevara runs down and turns the tide with him! The three challengers for Double or Nothing stare each other down.

Renee Paquette interviews Maxwell Jacob Friedman backstage but he just slaps the mic out of her hand and we go to break.

Back from commercial Toni Storm is interviewed and demands a title shot against Jamie Hayter for Double or Nothing.

“Switchblade” Jay White vs. “Absolute” Ricky Starks

Commentary hypes up our next week of shows and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Tony Schiavone introduces Don Callis for an in-ring interview.

Callis makes his entrance with no music through a gauntlet of security on the ramp.

Tony asks him “Why?” and Don says everybody wants to hear him talk about why he did what he did to Kenny Omega, but instead he’s gonna talk about what Kenny did to him. Make no mistake, there’s only victim in this scenario, and it’s not Omega.

After everything he did for Kenny, the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, Omega and Jericho at the dome, his first night here Kenny won the AEW World Championship, and without him there is no Kenny Omega!

Enter Kenny Omega, punching his way through security to get to the ring but the Blackpool Combat Club attack him from behind! Jon Moxley hits a Paradigm Shift on the ramp and they stride triumphantly to the ring!

Jon gets on the mic and says the war is over already, and Kenny and his pissant friends could never touch him, and this is his final warning to stay down. They’re what everyone in this business pretends to be, they are the real Elite!

Enter the Young Bucks, banged up from earlier but carrrying a trash can of plunder. They each grab weapons...

“HANGMAN” ADAM PAGE IS HERE WEARING AN EYEPATCH AND READY TO FIGHT ALONGSIDE THE ELITE ONCE MORE! THEY RUSH THE RING AND BRAWL WITH BLACKPOOL COMBAT CLUB! Omega blasts Wheeler YUTA with a trash can lid and the Bucks hit a BTE Trigger to follow it up!

Page on the apron... BUCKSHOT! Hangman gets on the mic and stands with Kenny and the Bucks, saying they’re the heart, soul, and spirit of AEW. They are the Elite! So run and hide while you can, because at Double or Nothing it’ll be the Elite vs. Blackpool Combat Club in Anarchy in the Arena!

That’s the show, folks.
