It’s Wednesday so the Buffalo Bills are now turning their attention to their next opponent. This week, it’s another AFC East test.

After taking a loss in Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Bills (5-3) will now face the New York Jets (2-6) for the first time this season.

With that, here are eight storylines to follow as Week 10 approaches:

Not facing Sam Darnold

Quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Josh Allen were supposed to be connected for a long time. Both drafted by AFC East teams in 2018, Darnold and the Jets separated this past offseason.

Allen is, of course, still with the Bills. Not facing Darnold might be a topic of discussion because it’s pretty well known the two are tight off the field.

He’ll still get a chance to face his old friend later this year, at least.

And maybe not Zach Wilson

Now due to a knee injury, the Bills might not even face Darnold’s replacement: Zach Wilson.

After traveling to battle the Jaguars and No. 1 overall pick in QB Trevor Lawrence last week, the No. 2 rookie in Wilson was supposed to be en route next. His injury was said to be of the two-to-four week variety a couple of weeks back, so he could still be out.

The Jets might name either Wilson or Mike White their starter as early as Wednesday.

What happens with the Bills' O-line?

Simply put, the Bills’ offensive line was awful against the Jags. What changes will happen this week?

First, if rookie Spencer Brown can go (back) he should be in the lineup. But even then, Jon Feliciano (calf) will still be out. Will it be Ike Boettger or Cody Ford replacing him? Both struggled in Week 10.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott will be pressed about this the next few days. He will go on to give next to no intel.

Can’t give ’em a thing.

Losing the turnover battle

Josh Allen

The Bills have had a great run in terms of turnovers this season. At plus-11, the Bills still lead the NFL in that category.

However, in Jacksonville, they lost that battle. Allen had three turnovers himself and he has already talked about needing to be batter there.

Players on defense will also express wanting to take the ball away more as well.

Responding to 'not caring'

After their 9-6 win over the Bills, Jaguars defensive back Shaquill Griffin commented that Buffalo’s sideline didn’t care they were losing on Sunday.

In the NFL, that’s a huge claim.

Expect players to respond to that in Orchard Park this week.

COVID-19 list

Bills quarterback Mitch Trubisky rolls to his right and scores in the fourth quarter against Houston.

On Saturday, the Bills placed a second quarterback on their Reserve/COVID-19 list. Mitchell Trubisky joined Jake Fromm there.

While the hope would be that this situation cooled down this week, it hasn’t.

As of Monday, wide receiver Jake Kumerow is now on that designation as well. Are there more Bills players heading there this week?

Plus, the Jets have some issues in this area themselves. Wideout Denzel Mims is on New York’s Reserve/ COVID-19 list.

Jets will be well rested

The Jets lost in Week 9 on Thursday Night Football to the Indianapolis Colts. Having said that, the Jets have had a few extra days to prep for the Bills with their early game last week.

Just something worth keeping in mind.

Does WR1 return?

Corey Davis was a marquee free agent of the Jets this past offseason. He recently has been battling a hip injury.

However, he might return to practice this week. If that happens, the Jets might get their top wide receiver back in time for Sunday.

Remember me?

After leaving the Bills for the Miami Dolphins as a free agent, former first-round pick by Buffalo, Shaq Lawson, was traded to the New York Jets by the Houston Texans. Both Lawson and his former teammates will probably be asked about him facing his former team this week.

But as referenced, he did play against the Bills already having been on the Dolphins.
