TV and streaming picks for Monday, Sept. 20

WATCH THIS:

“Dancing with the Stars” (8 p.m., ABC): The ballroom competition returns for its 30th season — and so does Len Goodman! He’ll be part of an expanded judges panel alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough. Fifteen new celebrities are ready to bring their sparkle and shimmy to the ballroom, including Matt James of “The Bachelor,” Olympic gymnast Suni Lee, TV actor Brian Austin Green and pop star JoJo Siwa. Celebrity and professional dancer pairings will be revealed during the show.

“The Voice” (8 p.m., NBC): The popular reality competition returns to launch its 21st search for a pop superstar and there’s a new face on the coaches’ panel. Ariana Grande makes her debut and claims her red chair alongside veterans Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton. As usual, things get under way with the Blind Auditions.

“9-1-1” (8 p.m., Fox): In the Season 5 premiere, a series of ransomware threats leads to an overabundance of emergencies for the 118, including a medevac helicopter crash at a hospital and an air-traffic control tower system failure. Meanwhile Athena must revisit her traumatic attack when the case of the realtor serial rapist goes to trial, Eddie suffers a health scare and Maddie’s postpartum depression worsens.

“NCIS” (9 p.m., CBS): TV’s most popular drama series returns for its 19th season and things heat up right away. As the NCIS team searches for Gibbs after wreckage from his boat is discovered, they find out he was tracking a serial killer with journalist Marcie Warren (Pam Dawber), who wrote an exposé on him.

“The Big Leap” (9 p.m., Fox): One of three new broadcast shows debuting tonight, this drama series follows a group of diverse, down-on-their-luck people attempting to change their lives by participating in a potentially life-ruining reality dance show, featuring a modern reimagining of “Swan Lake.” Scott Foley stars as the show’s ratings-obsessed executive producer.

“NCIS: Hawai`i (10 p.m., CBS): The military crime franchise branches out once again — this time going to the Aloha State. Vanessa Lachey stars as Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor Jane Tennant, who, with her unwavering team of specialists, balances duty, family and country, while investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security and the mysteries of the sun-drenched island paradise itself. In the premiere episode, an experimental Naval aircraft crashes on Oahu, and Tennant and her team must find who is behind it before classified state secrets are exposed.

“Ordinary Joe” (10 p.m., NBC): There doesn’t seem anything ordinary about this new high-concept drama series. James Wolk stars as Joe Kimbreau, who faces a big life decision upon his college graduation. Viewers experience three parallel “what-if” storylines that explore what might happen if Joe takes very different paths in life. After all, sometimes what you do in a single moment can change everything.
