CHAMPAIGN (Heart of Illinois ABC) -- A stunning night in Champaign on Saturday. Following a great start to a new era of Illini football a week ago in a win over Nebraska, this week Illinois is upset 37-30 at home by the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Quarterback Art Sitkowski threw for 266 yards with 3 TDs, while adding in 33 rushing yards, but the rushing attack didn't get much going with no one rushing for more than 39 yards.
The Illini never led in the game, getting down 14-0 before clawing its way back to keep it close. In the end, the defense couldn't stop the Roadrunners from finding the endzone.
Next up for Illinois is a non-conference road trip to play Virginia. The game will kickoff at 10 a.m. central time on the ACC Network.
