It continues to weaken as strong SW wind shear has been taking its toll on the storm.
The strongest tropical storm winds remain to the east of the center of circulation.
As Isaias moves NNW toward the SE Florida coast this morning, some winds may reach tropical storm strength (39mph+).
North of the circulation, the onshore wind on Florida’s east coast will lead to a minor storm surge situation.
A few gusty rain bands will make their way across the state into the Tampa Bay Area but the winds are not expected to be sustained tropical storm force.
Isaias will continue to move north along the coast and then turn northeastward and skirt the Carolina Coast as well as a moderate tropical storm Monday.
Isaias, in a weakened state may affect the Northeast US on Tuesday with some gusty wind and heavy rain squalls.
This is one of the computer models we look at, and it’s the worst case of all of the models. It shows the highest wind gusts Sunday evening along the Space Coast with winds dropping off quickly inland.
