LANE COUNTY, OR (KPTV) — Marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash were located inside a vehicle after troopers responded to shooting call on Interstate 5 on Sunday, according to Oregon State Police.

At around 11:47 p.m., troopers responded to a report from a motorist that he had been shot at while driving on Interstate 5 in northern Douglas County.

OSP said the driver continued along the interstate with a flat tire for about 20 miles before troopers located him in a rest area in southern Lane County.

According to OSP, an investigation revealed the driver, identified as 20-year-old Juan Felipe Moreno, of Florida, was under the influence of marijuana and his paranoia led him to believe he had been shot at after a tire on his vehicle had a blowout.

During a search of Moreno’s vehicle, OSP said troopers found about 95 grams of marijuana, marijuana items and $29,790 in cash.

OSP said the cash was concealed in a package of diapers.

Moreno and a passenger, identified as 30-year-old Jose Noe Guisjon, of California, will be referred to the Lane County District Attorney’s Office for money laundering, according to OSP.

OSP said Moreno was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
