WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — When the No. 2-ranked Purdue basketball program faces off against Iowa on Friday night at Mackey Arena, it will be the Big Ten opener for either program. The Hawkeyes are undefeated, but a victory for the Boilermakers would be just their fifth 8-0 start since 1940.

Purdue earned a 93-65 victory against Florida State on Tuesday as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The team also took down Omaha 97-40 last Friday. The Boilermakers are 7-0 for just the seventh time since 1940.

9:42 p.m. ET — Purdue has its first double-digit lead of the game after Jaden Ivey collects a steal and races down the court for a tough layup. Iowa hasn't turned the ball over much this game, but Purdue is
9:34 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Purdue leads Iowa 20-14 with 7:55 remaining. The Boilermakers have seven turnovers so far in the first half. Mason Gillis still leads the team with seven points. He's 4-4 from the free-throw line.
9:32 p.m. ET — Zach Edey comes out in favor of Trevion Williams. Edey has three turnovers and no points to his name. On the Boilermakers' next possession, Ethan Morton nails a 3-pointer.
9:30 p.m. ET — Purdue can't get a lob to Zach Edey in the paint. Offense just doesn't look as clean tonight, inside and out. Jaden Ivey checks into the game to hopefully provide a spark.
9:28 p.m. ET — Caleb Furst and Ethan Morton into the game for Purdue.
9:24 p.m. ET, UNDER 12 — Purdue has a 13-9 lead as neither team has been able to generate much offense. The Boilermakers are now 33% from the field while the Hawkeyes are shooting 25%.
Mason Gillis leads all scorers with five points after putting away two free throws to go along with his early 3-pointer.
9:23 p.m. ET — Iowa up to seven fouls, while Purdue has just one. The Boilermakers are in the bonus with more than 12 minutes to play.
9:20 p.m. ET — Mason Gillis comes up with Purdue's first 3-pointer of the game. The Boilermakers now lead, and Zach Edey checks back into the game. Brandon Newman and Eric Hunter Jr. are also on the floor alongside Sasha Stefanovic.
9:14 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Boilermakers have been unsuccessful from the 3-point line early on. They've missed on three attempts. As a team, Purdue has shot just 17% from the field.
Iowa has a 7-6 lead with 15:23 to play in the first half.
9:08 p.m. ET — First points belong to Sasha Stefanovic. It took nearly two minutes for either team to find a basket. Zach Edey goes for a block on the other end of the floor and is called for a foul.
