This weekend will be a lot different in the SEC than the last several, as five teams are taking the week off and all three ranked teams playing are facing unranked competition at home. That said you never know what might happen in a college football game. Let’s dive into Week 8 in the SEC (all times in ET).
Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Arkansas Pine-Bluff
Time: Noon
TV Channel: SEC Network
Online Stream: WatchESPN, the ESPN app, or a free trial of fuboTV.
Spread: Arkansas 48.5
Expect Arkansas to not only easily handle the FCS Lions, but come out frustrated over a three-game losing streak. Though the spread is mighty, I think they’ll cover in this one.
Prediction: Hogs 49, Pine-Bluff 7
#12 Ole Miss Rebels vs. LSU Tigers
Time: 3:30 p.m.
TV Channel: CBS
Online Stream: CBS Sports Online
Spread: Ole Miss -7.5
The Rebels are at home ready to fire away at the LSU secondary and get to 6-1. While LSU is coming off a win over Florida, the Coach O situation might make their play worse by the week. I think Ole Miss will get out to a big lead and LSU won’t have a comeback in them. Plus, I trust Ole Miss’s offense even more than Kentucky and Florida’s, who both put up 40-burgers on the Tigers.
Prediction: Ole Miss 42, LSU 28
Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs
Time: 4:00 p.m.
TV Channel: SEC Network
Online Stream: WatchESPN, the ESPN app, or a free trial of fuboTV.
Spread: Mississippi State -20.5
Vanderbilt is coming off of a close one with South Carolina that they almost won in Colombia, but I wouldn’t trust the Commodores in any game. This team lost by 20 to an FCS school and needed a last-minute field goal to beat UConn. The Bulldogs have an Air Raid and will use it to easily cover against Vandy as they bounce back from their Alabama loss.
Prediction: Mississippi State 42, Vanderbilt 14 (Mississippi State -20.5)
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Tennessee Volunteers
Time: 7:00 p.m.
TV Channel: ESPN
Online Stream: WatchESPN, the ESPN app, or a free trial of fuboTV.
Spread: Alabama -25.0
Tennessee had momentum before the Ole Miss loss but their previous wins were over bad teams. While they’ll play Alabama like it’s the Super Bowl, the Tide will blow this game wide open and easily overwhelm the Volunteers. 25 points is a large spread, but I think they’ll reach it.
Prediction: Alabama 49, Tennessee 21
Texas A&M Aggies vs. South Carolina Gamecocks
Time: 7:30 p.m.
TV Channel: SEC Network
Online Stream: WatchESPN, the ESPN app, or a free trial of fuboTV.
Spread: Texas A&M -20.0
Now that the Aggies have beaten Alabama they’ll be very eager to win out and see where that win will take them. They’ll come at South Carolina with a full head of steam and take no chances as they try to put this one away in the first half and eke out a cover.
Prediction: Texas A&M 38, South Carolina 17
