It’s Wednesday so the Buffalo Bills are now turning their attention to their next opponent. This week, it so happens to be their first game following the bye.

After taking Week 7 off, the Bills (4-2) will now host the Miami Dolphins (1-6).

With that, here are six storylines to follow as Week 8 approaches:

Under the watch of head coach Sean McDermott, the Bills have never lost a game coming out of the bye. Overall, his teams are 4-0 in such games.

Will the Bills be able to keep up that pace?

The Bills have sat around and thought about their heartbreaking loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football for over a week now. They’ll want to fully put that behind them.

Doing so will now involve the idea of taking some frustrations from that loss out on the Dolphins. While players on the Bills might not admit it, that’s going to happen.

It might be a bad day to be a Dolphins fan on Sunday.

In Week 2, Bills quarterback Josh Allen didn’t have a huge stat line. That’s because in the blowout win he was pulled from the game early and watched from the sideline. A little extra rest for him.

Still, throughout his career, Allen has completely owned the Dolphins, only losing once to Miami as a rookie. Allen has won the AFC Offensive Player of the Year Award seven times… three came against the Dolphins.

The Dolphins entered the 2021 season with very high hopes. Since then, it has nearly all been disappointment.

Miami won on opening day and has lost six-straight games. The Bills will be asked all week about not overlooking such a team… but also about the change in the view people have of the Dolphins as compared to the first time these two teams met.

It has been night and day.

Tua's back

Tua Tagovailoa started under center for the Dolphins in Week 2, but he’s going to want some revenge against the Bills.

He was injured very early in the game the last time Buffalo was in town. A rib injury kept him out a few weeks after that as well.

Tagovailoa will be a vastly different QB the Bills will face as compared to Jacoby Brissett, who replaced Tagovailoa and played most of Week 2.

The Bills are going to have to reflect that in their game plan.

Turnover game

After struggling in the turnover department in their season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bills changed that around against the Dolphins in their first meeting.

Cornerback Levi Wallace notched Buffalo’s first interception of the season and the Bills recovered two Miami fumbles.

That game got the Bills rolling in the turnover department. Since then, they’ve amassed a NFL leading plus-11 turnover differential. The Dolphins are at a -2.
