As the high surf continues along the coast Wednesday, so does the high surf advisory that comes along with it. The advisory will still cover San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara County area beaches through Thursday as breaking waves continue to range from 12 to 18 feet. By Thursday afternoon ahead of the advisory's potential expiration, the waves will taper off to eight to 12 feet, but dangerous rip currents will remain.

For the south coast, the beach hazards statement has also been extended through 9 p.m. Wednesday as breaking waves range from three to six feet due to elevated surf.

The morning commute will be met with partly cloudy skies and breezy 15-25 mile per hour winds across the northern Santa Barbara County. Breezy northwesterly winds are expected to develop through the afternoon hours, which will be a pattern that will continue through the rest of the week.

Warmer temperatures are on the way Wednesday ahead of even warmer daytime highs Thursday and Friday. For Wednesday, expect coastal regions and inland valleys will to stay around the mid to upper 60s with coastal valleys reaching the low to mid-70s. As an upper-level high develops over the West Thursday, daytime highs across valley locations could reach the upper 70s and low 80s Thursday and Friday.
