Alabama will play Auburn in the Iron Bowl this Saturday. The Arkansas game was supposed to follow next weekend, but that could change following some news circulating social media.

The Crimson Tide’s game against LSU that was set to take place back on Nov. 14 was forced to be postponed due to COVID-19 related issues within the Tigers program.

The status of that game has been in limbo, but we might finally have some clarity on the situation. According to multiple people, including Matt Zenitz with AL.com, the game between Alabama and LSU could happen next Saturday.

That news was announced via Twitter on Friday morning.

That would mean that the game against the Razorbacks that was originally set for Dec. 5 would more than likely be pushed back to Dec. 12, the weekend before the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 19.

Having a LSU road matchup follow the Auburn game might seem like tough stretch, but it makes sense. Arkansas has been a solid team this season, but Nick Saban and company would probably prefer the Razorbacks the weekend before a potential matchup against Florida.

The reasoning behind this potential decision has not yet been released, but the importance of a marquee game like Alabama-LSU is certainly a factor in the decision. It’s not a game to skip out on.
