TUCSON (KVOA) - A man is behind bars following a vehicle pursuit along Interstate 10 Tuesday night.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety, a trooper attempted to stop a driver for impeding traffic on eastbound I-10, near Picacho that evening.
When the trooper activated the lights and siren in an attempt to perform a traffic stop, the driver reportedly increased his speed and continued to drive down the I-10.
Later, the vehicle's tires were caught in a spike trap that was laid out by DPS. Despite the spiked tires, the driver reportedly continued along the interstate on its rims until a PIT maneuver was used to end the pursuit at Ina Road.
Two suspects were taken into custody. One person was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries, DPS said.
One of the suspects was identified as Alberto Sanchez, 23, of Milan, New Mexico. He was booked into the Pima County Jail.
Sanchez has a felony warrant out of New Mexico.
No further details have been released at this time.
