Finally reaching May might mean central Pennsylvania will start to see warmer temperatures than it’s seen up to this point, but it doesn’t mean the finicky weather from earlier in the season will vanish — look at this week, for example.
Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny with cool spring temperatures. Rain comes into the picture overnight, with rain in the forecast before 4 a.m. and showers afterward, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters are calling for overnight showers to stick around on Wednesday, and for temperatures to drop below 50 degrees.
On Thursday, the high is back up in the low-60s and mostly sunny — but with up to 20-mph wind gusts, the NWS predicted.
It’s back to rain in the forecast on Friday, with a chance of showers before 2 p.m. and showers likely later in the afternoon.
Early forecasts for next weekend are showing partly sunny, partly cloudy days, and temperatures in the mid-to-high 50s.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Chance of showers before 4 a.m., then a chance of rain between 4 and 5 a.m., and a chance of showers after 5 a.m. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Low around 40. Rain, mainly before 2 a.m. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Wind gusts as high as 20 mph possible.

Cloudy, with a high near 51. Chance of rain before 2 p.m., and showers likely afterward. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
