Victor Wembanyama had another slow start in his second NBA game, but he turned it on in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 126-122 win over the Houston Rockets on Friday in San Antonio. The heralded rookie scored 21 points to go with 12 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and one assist in 31 minutes.
While Wembanyama's debut was slowed by foul trouble, he did not have that same issue Friday. Through the first three quarters, he was solid but not spectacular. In the fourth, though, he took over on both ends of the court. He came up with a pair of monster blocks that changed the momentum of the game and helped the Spurs force overtime.
Then, of course, Wembanyama was the one who tied the game to send it to overtime.
Earlier in the fourth quarter, Wembanyama threw down two monster dunks, including a reverse alley-oop.
And this sneaky jam from under the hoop.
The Spurs' next game is Sunday (9 p.m. ET, NBA TV) at the LA Clippers.
