Williamson County will follow Gov. Greg Abbott mask mandate changes. (Ali Linan/Community Impact Newspaper)
On that date, Texans will no longer be required by state law to wear a mask, and all businesses will be allowed to operate at full capacity in all counties not in an area with high hospitalizations.
Nonetheless, individuals are still strongly encouraged to wear a face covering over the nose and mouth wherever it is not feasible to maintain 6 feet of distance from another person not in their household, per the order.
Williamson County remains in a high community spread phase, according to the Williamson County and Cities Health District, but its hospitalizations have dropped low enough to not be considered a county with high hospitalizations.
Area school districts have said they will continue to enforce mask-wearing for teachers, staff and students, as many have said they will wait for Texas Education Agency guidelines before making decisions.
The full order can be found here.
