We saw highs in the 20s on Saturday, now we’ll take aim at 30s. Sunday highs will reach the lower 30s in most areas:
Parts of northeastern Minnesota will top out in the 20s.
Snow today
A low pressure system will spin moisture over parts of the upper Midwest this Sunday. Periods of snow are expected Sunday in much of southern, central and northeastern Minnesota and on into Wisconsin. Heavier snow is expected in northern Iowa.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern for Sunday through Sunday evening:
The Twin Cities metro area is expected to see around one inch of snow, with higher snow amounts to the south and southeast:

Air quality alert
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency continues an air quality alert through this Sunday morning from Stearns County through the Twin Cities metro area and on into southeastern Minnesota:
Air quality in those areas will be unhealthy for sensitive groups, including people with asthma, COPD, or heart disease. It’s recommended that people in those groups limit their physical activity until air quality improves. Updates on the air quality alert can be found on the MPCA site.
There’s also an air quality alert in west-central and southwestern Wisconsin, which runs through 3 p.m. today. The Wisconsin counties with an air quality alert are included on this NWS graphic:
