WASHINGTON COUNTY (KDKA) — Several people were injured when a multi-vehicle crash resulted in the temporary closure of the Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Washington County.
The crash happened along the Speers Bridge early Saturday morning near Belle Vernon.
One person was trapped in their vehicle and were freed by crews at the scene using the Jaws of Life.
According to the Rostraver Central Fire Department, three patients were transported from the scene by paramedics and two more were airlifted from the scene by medical helicopter.
The status of those injured in the crash is unknown at this time.
The roadway reopened just before 10:00 a.m.
