UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Evan Leist and the sixth-ranked Lady Jackets will compete in the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Friday near Seattle.
The men's 10K at Chambers Creek Regional Park begins at 1:00 p.m. EST with the women's 6K at 2:15.
Leist represents the seventh time that the Yellow Jacket men have been represented at the national meet. He qualified after placing fourth in the Midwest Regional.
Cedarville qualified as a team four times - 2012 (15th place), 2013 (15th), 2018 (24th), and 2021 (31st) - with Benjamin Tuttle (2015) and Daniel Michalski (2017) going as individuals.
Two Yellow Jackets have earned All-America honors (Top 40 finishers). Matt Brooker finished 28th in 2013 and Tuttle placed 16th in 2015.
A total of 34 teams and 25 individuals are entered to participate in the men's championship race.
The Lady Jackets are making their third appearance and second in a row. They finished 11th in both 2016 and 2021.
Cedarville was the Midwest Region runner-up earning one of the region's three automatic bids.
The lineup includes Alayna Ackley, Savannah Ackley, Audrianna Enns, Naomi Herman Remington Hobson, Hannah Rhem, and Bethany Sholl with Becky Madsen as the alternate.
The Jackets, who will be among 34 competing teams and 27 individuals participating, will be seeking the first NCAA All-America performance in the program's history.
