Updated: 7:45 pm Saturday, February 6th:

An area of light snow has pushed across far southern Wisconsin over the last few hours, dropping a dusting of snow in spots. The dusting of snow combined with the bitter cold temperatures has created slippery spots on area roads along and south of I-94.

There are a few lingering flurries from Milwaukee to Janesville that will exit to the east over the next 1-2 hours.

Updated: 3:15pm Saturday February 6th:

Light snow is starting to reach the ground in Kenosha, but dry air has prevented flurries elsewhere so far this afternoon.

A few flakes will be possible south of I-94 through mid evening, but this system continues to trend farther south so most of the area won't pick up more than a dusting. A few tenths of an inch are possible along with Wisconsin/Illinois border.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wind chills are between -10 and -20 degrees across southeast Wisconsin this morning and will remain below zero throughout the day.

While we've had a little sun this morning, cloud will increase from the west as a system passes us to the south today

The brunt of the snow will fall across Iowa and Illinois, but some light snow may clip southeast Wisconsin between 3pm and 9pm. Best chance for snow is along and south of I-94.

Areas that do see snow could pick up a light coating with up to 1" possible along with Wisconsin/Illinois border. With temperatures so cold, it won't take much snow to make roads slippery.

Behind this system, NW winds will become breezy and usher in the coldest air of the season overnight. Temps will fall below zero area wide with wind chills between -20° and -30° all night through Sunday morning.

Frostbite can occur in as little as 10 minutes in wind chills this cold. A Wind Chill Advisory has been posted for all of southeast Wisconsin beginning at 9pm this evening and running through Noon Sunday.

While wind chills won't be as brutal to start the work week, this cold air isn't going anywhere. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather app to track the snow and cold.
